Don Geronimo got his first task in radio in the age of 14, at WRWC in Rockton, Illinois. Shot from the General Manager for breaking the "beautiful music" format to perform with some Top-40 music, it wasn’t the very first time Don broke a format. But rising never stopped, as his career accelerated.
At Fun Lovin’ 13Q Don was out and about the oxygen within the important market of Pittsburgh, from the age of 16. At seventeen, he worked in New York City, doing the nightshift at 99X. And then he got fired. Again. And started the rise completely backup the radio hierarchy.
From 1977-1979 Don worked in Providence, RI, Indianapolis, and Detroit. In 1979 he was used at WPGC in Washington, DC. From there it was to KIIS- FM in Los Angeles and WLS in Chicago. After going to WBBM-FM in Chicago for mornings, he relocated yet again, back to Washington DC in 1985.
The proceed to WAVA combined with the beginning of Don’s son Bart in ’85 intended no more moving for some time. After performing the afternoon move on WAVA, Don combined with Mike O’Meara about the WAVA Morning Zoo thru 1991 and was transferred to mornings. At that point, the now relabeled "Don & Mike Show" moved to WJFK and back to days in DC. The D&M show ran for more than 20 years, and atone level was syndicated to more than 50 programs. Don retired from that show in 2008, returning to radio this season at KHTK in Sacramento. He kept there of three years, until he was shot. Yet again!
That led to the creation of the DonGeronimoPodcast.com! Several samples of Don’s air work solo and around the D&M exhibit is found at Airchexx.com. Don continues to make his miracle daily via downloads and live streaming. Don has appeared in a small number of movies and television shows, most famously, his two read more "stellar" performances on King Of Queens. More is found on Don’s IMDB page.
